Diagnostics and Repair
When a computer develops problems, correctly identifying the cause matters before replacing components or making unnecessary changes.
TEI-NOLOGY performs technical diagnostics on desktop computers to identify hardware, performance, stability, temperature, power, storage, and other operational problems.
What problems can we diagnose?
Our approach begins with an initial assessment. Once the problem is identified, we explain available alternatives before making repairs.
Among other issues, we can assess:
- Computers that will not power on.
- Unexpected restarts or shutdowns.
- Blue screens or frequent freezes.
- Storage failures.
- RAM problems.
- Graphics card failures.
- Motherboard problems.
- Power supply failures or insufficient power.
- High temperatures.
- Excessive fan noise.
- Reduced performance.
- Startup problems.
- Components no longer recognized by the system.
- Driver or configuration problems after hardware changes.
- Instability after upgrades or component installation.
How does it work?
We begin by gathering information about when the problem started, the computer’s symptoms, recent hardware or software changes, and any other details that may help identify the cause.
We perform necessary checks on the affected components and assess general system behavior. Depending on the fault, we may review power, temperatures, storage, memory, graphics card, processor, motherboard, connections, and other relevant items.
After identifying the problem, we explain our findings and available alternatives. If there are different solutions, we may present options based on cost, convenience, and the computer’s expected useful life.
We do not perform additional repairs or replace components without your prior approval. If new parts are needed, we will communicate availability, price, and estimated time before proceeding.
Once the repair is authorized, we complete the work and verify operation afterward. Where applicable, we test stability, temperatures, startup, component recognition, and general operation before delivery.
Usage and care recommendations
Review the usage, update, and maintenance recommendations relevant to the work performed to help care for your computer after the service.
Repairs at our location or yours
Depending on the fault, some assessments and repairs can be performed directly at the customer’s home.
If the problem requires more extensive tests, disassembly, additional tools, or repairs that cannot reasonably be completed on site, we may arrange pickup to continue diagnostics at our location.
If the computer must be taken away, the customer is informed in advance and an estimated return time arranged. Many jobs may be completed in approximately 24 to 72 hours, depending on the fault, component availability, and repair complexity.
Same-day repair where possible
If assessment reveals a fault that can be resolved immediately and we have the necessary component, we may repair it the same day with the customer’s prior approval.
Availability depends on the problem, location, time required, and parts availability.
What happens if a component is damaged?
When a component has a confirmed fault, we assess whether replacement is possible and economically sensible.
In some cases, we may recommend an upgrade instead of an equivalent replacement, especially if a better alternative would extend useful life or improve performance.
Computers with customer-supplied components
We can work with components purchased by the customer or parts already in their computer.
Before using them in a repair, we may check compatibility and general condition. TEI-NOLOGY cannot assume the manufacturer warranty for third-party purchases, but can perform installation and testing as part of the contracted service.
We diagnose before replacing
An apparent failure does not always mean the seemingly affected component is actually responsible.
For example, a computer that will not power on may have power supply, motherboard, memory, connection problems, or several simultaneous failures.
We therefore recommend diagnostics before investing in parts.
Not sure what is wrong with your computer?
Tell us what your computer is doing and when the problem started. We will assess it and explain the available options before any repair.
